How Does InVenture Work?
InVenture Fund invests $1,000-$15,000 in existing business owners who are previous microfinance borrowers with a positive three-year track record of repayment or otherwise are business owners with consistent cashflows for the past three years. InVenture Fund allows these business owners to expand their business risk free for a 6 month-1 year period of time, with no specific repayment schedule set. InVenture Fund's model works on profit sharing; we set realistic financial and social reinvest- ment targets for the businesses to achieve. During this period of time, InVenture Fund supplies the business owners with training and resources to help them expand and reach their potential.
Here's how we work.
-
Identify Business. InVenture partners with established NGOs and MFIs--both here and abroad--to identify small and mid-sized businesses in need of capital. More often than not, these businesses already rely on high-inter- est loans to keep their business operating, but they demonstrate a potential for real growth if given the opportunity to shake free of the loan cycle.
-
Educate Business. InVenture works with field partners to develop a business plan that's unique to the entre- preneur, community and region. Armed with realistic financial goals and support from other local businesses, InVenture's entrepreneurs have a real shot at succeeding. InVenture also works with field partners to identify social initiatives in which entrepreneurs will eventually reinvest profits.
-
Fund Business. InVenture channels real capital--contributed by InVestors via our online platform--into the business. Free from debt and high interest payments, the business can operate independently and with an eye towards long-term growth.
-
Watch Business Grow. As soon as the business begins turning a profit, a portion of that profit is reinvested in the community. Yet another portion of that profit is returned to the original InVestors, who can donate their profit share to a cause of their choosing or invest in another Fund. InVenture's capital-based model means there is no loan to repay, and no interest on top of it. The business is free to keep growing.
-
Watch Community Grow. Business reinvestment in social initiatives, such as clean water and education, improves the livelihood of the community as a whole. And the stronger the community, the greater the chance that other businesses can succeed.
-
Set Business Free. Eventually, the business will become fully operational on its own--the entrepreneur can now go out into the open market. As a full-fledged business owner, he or she can continue leading the community forward.
