We are currently looking for candidates for the following positions:

Software Engineer

InVenture Fund seeks to solve the problems of global poverty and inequality by providing a transparent online platform through which everyday people can provide targeted capital to entrepreneurs in developing countries to help them build viable businesses, reinvest in their local communities and catalyze sustained community change.

InVenture is seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and sharp individual to help us build our investment platform and website. We are looking for someone who sees the same potential as we do for InVenture and is looking to grow with InVenture. This is a unique opportunity for a young, socially-conscious individual to build his or her portfolio, gain top-level management experience, and contribute to an exciting new online venture.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

    · Initially link InVenture site to PayPal or other payment template and create skin to match InVenture format, so that investments can begin to be processed

    · Use social networking template to create beta social networking community

    · Head design process, prototype new functionality

    · Build new investment and user functionality for our website

    · Front end graphical user interface design

    · Problem-solving and thinking latterly as a part of a team with business owners and other engineers to find solutions

    · Write efficient and maintainable code

    · Creating technical specifications and test plans (both manual and automated test suites)

    · Ad Hoc requests from the InVenture team

Ideal candidate:

    · BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline

    · A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design

    · 1-3 years experience in web development (Java/NET/HTML/Perl/Python/Ruby)

    · Must have coding skills in Python or Javascript/AJAX, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming is a plus.

    · Must be able to meet fast and changing deadlines

    · Committed and passionate about InVenture’s mission and our potential

    · Must be located in either LA/SF
